Refi’s are back in the green! Fannie and Freddie just announced that they are removing the adverse market fee that was implemented in 2020 to offset the economic risk from the pandemic.
To put this in perspective, the 50 basis point fee that has been charged by Fannie and Freddie since late in 2020 added an additional $1,500 upfront on a $300k refinance loan.
