Along Peachtree Walk (between 10th and 11th Street), the new “Midtown Art Walk” is in the works! Technically, the soon to be public art showcase has been in talks for years. The initial phase was completed last year in partnership with Selig & their new 1105 W Peachtree development. Next week, construction will start for phase two, plans include sitting areas, walkways, refreshed lighting, landscaping and murals. The project’s budget is close to $4.5m.
This is great news for us! Atlanta already has a strong arts culture, but having murals, studios and street level galleries will allow the public to experience and enjoy the arts while walking to work or getting on the MARTA. Speaking of art, the new KAWS exhibit at the HIGH is worth checking out!
