In May, Amazon announced it plans to hire over 3,800 people in Atlanta. A few days ago, the AJC (Atlanta Journal Constitution) announced that a developer working with Amazon has a portion of the 300 acre former CSX terminal, Tilford Yard site under contract. Tilford Yard is on Marietta Boulevard, crossing the BeltLine walking trail and just a couple miles north of the new Westside Park and Quarry Yards.
I’m excited to see what happens here, there is no question that the Westside is seeing extreme changes, as well as Amazon doubling down on Atlanta. Already this past year, they purchased property in Doraville, opened a robotics fulfillment center in Gwinnett County and announced plans for a sortation facility north of Atlanta.
